Teater The Last Geishas: Re-Creation

Is a geisha merely a tourism icon, or the living embodiment of a tradition passed down through generations?

This question inspired artists Shingo Ota and Kyoko Takenaka to apprentice under the woman often called “the last geisha.” Together with guitarist Kazuhisa Uchihashi, they present a documentary-style performance exploring the essence of inheritance — how a skill, an art, and a way of life are carried forward.
