The Leather Edit: Craft, Conversation, and Contemporary Design
From April 10–19, 2026, Indonesia Design District presents The Leather Edit—a curated program that explores leather as both a material and a medium of innovation within the world of design. Located in the vibrant PIK2 area, the event is part of a broader creative ecosystem where over 200 local and international brands come together to celebrate craftsmanship, lifestyle, and design culture.
Featuring a diverse lineup of participating brands such as Malinda, Magran, Elmirai, BIKA, and more, The Leather Edit showcases how leather continues to evolve across disciplines—from furniture and interiors to lifestyle products. Each brand brings a unique perspective, highlighting the balance between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design thinking.
Beyond the exhibition, the program is designed to foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration. Leather Talk sessions offer insights into the material’s characteristics, processing techniques, and its growing relevance in modern design. These discussions create a platform for industry experts, designers, and enthusiasts to exchange ideas and deepen their understanding of leather.
The Design & Architect Gathering further expands this dialogue by focusing on the application of leather in architectural and interior contexts. From material selection to furniture integration, the sessions explore how leather enhances spatial experiences—both aesthetically and functionally.
For a more immersive experience, visitors can participate in hands-on workshops, including leather stitching activities. These sessions provide a rare opportunity to engage directly with the material, allowing participants to appreciate the precision, skill, and artistry behind every detail.
More than just an event, The Leather Edit is a celebration of material exploration—where craftsmanship meets innovation, and ideas turn into tangible experiences.
